The Story of The Burbridge
In 2008, I bought a small single story building in Park City and have operated Black Tie Delivery Ski Rentals from the space ever since. This venerable building had served as a workforce services office and a fresh seafood restaurant before becoming the decade-long home of Black Tie. For several years, we literally stored ski boots on racks in walk-in fridges. I’ve long been interested in architectural design and I had planned back in 2008 to one day build two additional floors of thoughtful lodging above the original single story building. As often happens, life got in the way: I went to business school, continued to grow Black Tie Park City, got married, and now I have two children.
In 2016, my imagination kicked back into gear and I began seriously to revisit The Burbridge project. I wanted to ensure that the design not only beautified the neighborhood, but also functionally improved the community. It had to be mixed use in order to encourage convenient living in the core of Park City, while also preserving the character of the community. Above all, it had to use the limited city core space efficiently and offer residents and visitors fresh air in our beautiful mountain town. The result is a mixed use six residential unit building that offers easy accessibility within walking distance of all the conveniences that modern living requires. I call it The Burbridge to honor my mom and my grandparents. Best of all the Burbridge has over 1,000 square feet of balcony space, most of which has beautiful ski resort views.
Initially, I had decided to lease all six units on a long term basis. Now that the building is finished, I couldn't bring myself to lose access to all of the units, so I've decided to keep some of them for family, friends, and clients. We'd like to invite you to stay with us. One unit has two bedrooms and two full baths, with sleeping space on four beds for up to six people. The immediately adjacent unit has one bedroom and one full bath, with sleeping space for up to four people on one king bed and a convertible sofa. Rent them both for multiple families or groups. Because the entrance doors are in a corner and only about a foot apart, renting both is a perfect lodging opportunity for couples, multiple families, extended families, parents with older children, and other groups. Two additional units share a similar one-bedroom floorpan as the previous unit, with the added amenities of a separate dining nook, a second balcony accessed from the bedroom, and a walk-in closet.
We hope to welcome you soon. We're sure you'll like our corner of Park City as much as we do!
